The Reference PIA-1 is composed of the cage with single axis swivel and light XLR extension (machined Neutrik XLR bodies), the main fabric, a suspension of your choice and a fur. Regarding lightness and efficiency, it is not simply possible to upgrade a PIA-1 to PIA-2 or PIA-3. Expecting a MS or double MS version, it is hardly advised to acquire a PIA-2 or PIA-3 directly, which are fully compatible with mono use (inner datachable cables).
